domo-kun @ anime festival asia 08 (day zero + one)
Tis the Year of DOMO-KUN as the "mascot of Japan's NHK television station" [www] arrives in Singapore @ the Anime Festival Asia 2008 [tagged]. Seen display are a huge variety of predominantly plushies in a variety of sizes and styles - featuring Domo-kun himself, as well as his "friends" - whom you may recognize as support characters that appear with him in a series of 30-second stop motion sketches - initially shown on NHK as station identification during shows.

Plans are afoot to "re-launch" Domo-kun in Asia in 2009, in a big way, and it all begins here @ AFA08. I was told that there were no special edition toys on display - altho do keep a look out for a series of Domokun-tees specifically made for AFA08, available in 8 styles/designs (unavailable to be photographed on Day Zero :p).
