dle inc @ anime festival asia 2008 (eagle talon toys & products)
In the midst of fully-product-packed-booths, and spotlight-bathed display shelves lining the aisles of Halls 403-404 at the recently concluded Anime Festival Asia 2008 [tagged] - stood this "unassuming" booth with a coupla tables & a stand displaying toys, plushies and stationary, with Japanese-language flash-animation on loop via plasma screen...
... I blame both personal fatigue and conscious-stress for missing the booth a coupla times I passed it, struggling thru the mad-Singapore-crowds, before I realized it was showcasing products and merchandize via DLE Inc - of the cult Japanese flash-animation hits Eagle Talon and The Frogman Show! /// CLICK THRU for more booth+product-pcis :)
The downside to all the coolness that suddenly revealed themselves before me - was that none of the products were available for literal sale at the event. They were on display for folks interested in carrying/distributing their products. (Interested retailers are to email sugawara.mitsuaki [at] dle.jp for inquiries).
The upside being - that I could see these products up close, rather than just thru the computer-screen via the www. Hell, I could even touch them! (to adjust position for picture snapping) ... yes, I am but a simple man needing simple pleasures in thy toy-life. (yeh, like anyone there's gonna give me any freebies - sheeyarrr?)
Most of these items have already been released (at the very least in Japan) in various guises - including Medicom Toy's Dr Leonard and Yoshida VCDs ("Vinyl Collectible Dolls") and Leonard 400%^ BE@RBRICK - and can be found via the DLE online store currently - except for the plushies (which I've not seen elsewhere) and darn those wittle "Dr Leonard-windups" (**don't know actual toy-names**) are adorable, aren't they? *le-giggle-gush*
Listed on the DLE-flyer also revealed a little bit more of the company's current status - in both production and content/media-related:
