hexa project @ anime festival asia 2008

HEXA PROJECT [www] had a booth @ Anime Festival Asia 2008 [tagged] - and on hand was Japanese-animation director Kobayashi Miki, who was showcasing her new flash-animated project, dubbed "Yume-Yume" (translated: "Dream-Dream" / embedded below / higher-res version viewable online @ hexaproject.com / roll-over #2 on top-menu & click).

I was lucky to receive a lovely DVD-collection of Hexa Project works including Yume-Yume and "An Ancient Story of Mt. Fuji", as well as a flash-animation mv featuring "Pok-Pong"-characters (aka a modern version of Thai traditional evil-warding and lucky charm dolls / via / also seen rampantly in Singapore too). HEXA Project Concept: Assimilation of all the contemporary hybrid expressions

According to hexagram geometry, which is the creation of physical structure, nature consists of a collection of the same sphere based on a regular tetrahedron. As sphere after sphere continues to emerge in all directions regularly, a series of basic hexagram patterns are produced and they should represent the eternity of the substance's structure in the universe. The Hexa project is an aggregate of hybrid expressions that overlap and link Art and Commercialism, just like a hexagram pattern. By conveying art and its value, we try to make the most of the ability of each artist, sponsor and supporter while grasping for the existence of art, and its relationship with contemporary art.

The Hexa project has been produced through the collaboration of many people who belong to different genre. Beyond languages and borders, the Hexa project converges, exchanges, and spreads throughout the world like infinite radiation, and produces the hybrid creative scene.
