KOTOBUKIYA-AFA08

Clearest shot I could get of the display was via the back, as folks crowded the front of display to snap to their own fill! And the only time it was clear? I snapped a wider-shot instead, before the crowds gathered again in front ... *forehead-palmslap* LOL

Kotobukiya's display at the Anime Festival Asia 2008 [tagged] @ Suntec City Halls 403-404 (2 weekends ago / circa Nov 22-23) saw a spread of genres from Star Wars to Marvel Comics, to Japanese anime and manga. (A flu-plagued) Natsuko was on hand to graciously and patiently educate me on the ways of Koto (LOL) - as I snapped my fill. CLICK THRU for snaps and some words. And check out a separate post for femme-busts featuring the art of Syunya Yamashita, and Kotobukiya's AFA08-exclusive release of Nineball Seraph - Crystal Version!

DYGENGUAR-AFA08

From the world of SUPER ROBOT TAISEN (Super Robot War) comes DYGENGUAR in Large Scale and with AUSENSEITER (PFERD Mode) was totally impressive and in spirit with AFA'08 - too bad there weren't any batteries - otherwise we could've seen light-ups and sounds on! LOL [Product Detail on Kotous.com]

Star Wars was represented by a selection of diorama-based products - from the smaller-scaled 1/35 CROSS SECTION 3-D X-WING Set [www] to the Skywalker vs Vader dio based on early Ralph McQuarrie-designs for SW. The main SW display was the BOUNTY HUNTERS SERIES - whereby a series of Bounty Hunter ART FX statues [www] were released along with (separate) individual pieces which made up Darth Vader! Dengar was the last figure to be released, along with Vader's head!

From Sci-Fi to comics - DC Comic's The Dark Knight saw vinyl Batman statues atop spot/floodlights on the rooftops of GothaM, while the Kotobukiya Collection Marvel Studios' Fine Art Statue series saw a combined dio of both The Incredible HULK and The Abomination - based on the movie (which I only just saw on DVD a week ago - hohum-ish) standing around 30cm tall , in cold cast.

The Kotobukiya Collection Marvel Studios' Fine Art Bust series saw movie versions of characters including The Punisher (Ray Wise version from the upcoming movie), The Incredible HULK, Iron Man (Mark 3 armor) and Daredevil, in cold cast busts. Heights varied between 23cm (9") for Iron Man, and 18.5cm (7 1/3″) for the green gamma-irradiated goliath. Shown at back are the upcoming folks like Blade The Vampire Hunter and Nightcrawler (from the X-Men). What is not in the pictures was Colossus - *sweet*

"Kotobukiya and Marvel Entertainment, Inc. have made the multi-year and worldwide licensing agreement for a wide range of high-end collectibles. Now Kotobukiya can make not only the goods from all Marvel Studios produced films, but also all goods from vast library of Marvel Comic Book characters."

Again, my thanks to Natsuko for her patience in educating this noob :)
