one just one: first ever art toys exhibition in east java surabaya (oct 22-29)
Courtesy of Marine of MyTummytoys - we have pictures of the first ever Art Toy exhibition in East Java Surabaya - dubbed: ONE JUST ONE (circa 22-29 October 2008) - as organized by Mytummytoys. Co - CCCL France Alliance and House Of Rotten Apple - to introduce art toys, plush and the concept of toy customization, in Indonesia, well as to provide more exposure for Jouwe (The Rhino Project / www / myspace).
On display were Jouwe plushes, digital paintings and postcard printing, and a series of 10-incher tall JOUWE Resin Figures (as yet released to general public) being customized by 10 artists from Bandung, Surabaya, Jakarta and France! CLICK THRU for complete list of artists, as well as their individual customs (Ya gots to get me in on the next round, Marine! Yes, I am shameless LOL)
Personally, I reckon that's nigh commendable (no B.S.) and pretty brave to organize this shindig - as Marine has mentioned before how daunting it was in terms of expectations. Marine has this to share: "The response was very very good because this is first art toys exhibition in East Java, as well as being a new experience for the artists and customizers, as they never knew that it was possible to custom a unique sculpt, and not just a platform figure>" = *cool*
Participating Artists & Customizers include:
- Cedric (France)
- Pongge (Surabaya)
- Eric (Surabaya)
- Eunice (Jakarta)
- Age (Jakarta)
- Evan & Atina (plush) (Bandung)
- Alex (Surabaya)
- Iko (Surabaya)
