Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea
A very short version of the trailer has been on constant-play on Singapore telly, and the voice is vaguely irritating and absolutely adorable! So I MUST share this with you folks (if you haven't heard about it by now, that is :p)PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA is a new animated feature film "by Japanese anime studio Studio Ghibli, written and directed by famed anime filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. It is Miyazaki's ninth film for Ghibli. The plot centers on a baby fish/mermaid in the sea named Ponyo who becomes a human girl. In pursuing her goal, she befriends a five-year-old human boy, Sōsuke." [wiki] - This film also has the distinction of being entirely hand-drawn - a rarity in this age of CGI-enhanced animation.
The movie has just hit Singapore cinemas. Am severely tempted to catch it, but somehow feel that it would be just as ravishing on DVD (or perhaps I am too jaded a cinema-goer by now :p). Check out the movie website (in Japanese) at www.ghibli.jp/ponyo :)
