Frank Kozik Sculpt and Paints: MechaNana Bronze / Hell Comes To Chicago @ Rotofugi (June 12)
Double the Frank-Kozik-mayhem this post - starting with his latest Bronze edition MechaNana = Part "steampunk" and part "kaiju" this piece is a reinterpretation of the classic pop art banana icon. When asked to describe this piece Kozik just shrugged and said it was a "marital aide"... go figure! .
Solicited by DKE Toys - the MechaNana Bronze peels at 10 inches long and 6" tall + wide (FYI: Shown above is a photo mock-up) and is limited to only 22 pieces and 2 APs (Artist Proofs) with a SRP between US$2000-$2500 (FYI: Each piece is made to order and requires $500 down to reserve your number. PRESS: Frank Kozik (yes, the one and only KOZIK) will be exhibiting paintings with us starting June 12. I remember seeing one of Frank's fantastic oil paintings at a exhibit here in Chicago in 2005 and wondering why I hadn't seen more of them. Frank may be best known for rock posters and toys, but he wields a mean brush. Fast forward four years and we're very, very proud to be exhibiting Frank's return to the canvas and paint world with a new show aptly titled HELL COMES TO CHICAGO.
Opening night is Friday, June 12 from 7pm until 10pm. Frank will be signing stuff (may we humbly suggest picking up the new PRIDE Labbit 5-Pack) from 7pm until 8:30pm. Snacks, sodas and a live DJ too. Come on out and show Frank what a Chicago art opening is all about...or if you're out of town and can't make it, be sure you're on the Gallery Preview List!
