And while like myself, oddles of folks were unable to attend the opening of Joe Ledbetter's MAGNUS MAXIMUS solo art show [Search] @ Corey Helford Gallery circa June 4th (exhibiting thru June 23rd), Joe has kindly uploaded the paintings online for gawking + procurement pleasures via www.joeledbetter.com. What I really like about this series, is that beyond the cutesy facade of Magnus, there is a tangible effort to tell a story and to provide a feeling of "history" that came with the creation of this lil griffin, henceforth giving him "life" beyond a 2-dimensional artwork, or even a 3-dimensional toy. Nice one this (regardless of "intent"). Looking forward to the continued adventures of Magnus, hopefully in full animation? Someone make that happen, please.
