Hope Cinematic Trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic

*Holy Frakkin'Sith* = I would pay good galactic credits cash-money to see an entire feature film's worth of this in a darkened cinema! The Star Wars: The Old Republic Cinematic Trailer (dubbed: "HOPE") was unleashed @ Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3 circa mid-June 2010 to promote the upcoming video game. Do check out Swtor.com for the eye-popping higher-res version of this filmlet (I tried embedding it here, but could not control the video from auto-playing whenever I load the page grrrr) ~ CLICK THRU for select screengrabs.

P/S: Someone needs to make toys of "Havoc Squad" (the elite Republic Special Forces unit shown here defending Alderaan), as well as the awesome female Jedi! And yes, I mean toys in 1/6th-scale, thanks! :p

  1. OMG!! That was tops! Tey seriously need to produce a quality animated film in this style and scope of action. I still don't understand why these animation studios (Dreamworks and Pixar included) are not focusing on sophisticated adventure/science fiction/super hero action films. I am tired of all the cute animal stuff. There is room to delve into this. What is really going on??

  2. Absolutely agree, E! I mean, i lurve me my cutesy cartoons that bring out the inner child within me, but films like this CG-trailer needs to be made to cater to the kidults (*raises hands*) ~ but alas, I have a sneaking suspicion it's all just about the monetary returns, and catering to the masses, IMHO.

  3. yep its all about money but then again Incredibles did great business too. If the masses love Star Wars, Avatar, Alien(s), Harry Potter and any other recent sci-fi blockbuster then they would love something like this as well. The studios in the U.S. stay in the box far too often.
