501st TK Project @ Star Wars Celebration 5

Yes, thine eyes deceive you not, for that is indeed George Lucas scoping out the custom Stormtrooper helmets for the 501st TK Helmet Project [featured HERE] currently on display at Star Wars Celebration V @ Orlando Florida ~ where the helmets will be put up for auction come August 15th (2pm-5pm) benefitting Make A Wish Foundation. Meanwhile, CLICK THRU for a peek at Russel Walk's custom-helmet, made as a homage to "American Graffiti" (a 1973 film co-written and directed by George Lucas) ... I wonder if George managed to get a peek at that helmet...

"Designed as an homage to American Graffiti, and painted in '57 Bel-Aire colors, with tons of chrome and an authentic, vintage v-8 emblem. The biggest problem in creating this was getting the chrome on the front to be shiny; Chrome spray paint just didn't do the job. Neither did Rub& Buff, although it DID give a great stainless steel look (Jango Costumers should check it out...). I ended up using silver leaf, which wasn't as smooth as I wanted...Big thanks to the 501st for the opportunity to create something special!"
