Custom Works on TOYSREVIL (Jan/26/2011)

THUNDERPANDA-GODZILLA

Indeed (traditional) "kaijus" seem to be the hot topic of folks and friends in Jakarta at the moment, and Eric Wirjanata aka Thunderpanda just has two custom-paints perfect for the occasion. Check out more snaps of his lightning-marked Gozilla and Hedorah on Facebook. Painted on Bandai Creation's soft vinyl, the 6.5" Hedorah and 1968 Godzilla (*gasp*) are US$25 (+ shipping) on http://slantedtoys.bigcartel.com.

XAGU Tiger Mask is a custom piece from a Mexican artist whom happened to be a friend of Frank Mysterio (who hooked us up with these visuals), with this swell work being a commissioned piece. Good to see good work being propagated throughout the world in all corners, IMHO. Now we need the name of this artist, dude!

PHONETICONTROL-CUSTOM

It's been quite a while well, at least for me) since we've seen any toy or sculpt-work from Eric Broers aka PHONETICONTROL - besides his relentless artwork and papertoy show with Thought Processors. So this figure above is a refreshing vision - made fro Bronze Dust, Black Gesso and Super Sculpey on a Mummy Gator from Super7. Also check out his Flickr for more visuals.

LUCHA-ALIEN-01
LUCHA-ALIEN-02

"Lucha Alien is an alien hiding behind the fantasy of a Luchador, for not to be recognized by humans." ~ LUCHA ALIEN is also a mini-Munny custom by TarX - thanks for sharing TarX.

El-Panadero-01
El-Panadero-02

From Abe Viljoen aka The Given comes snaps of his new custom 4" mini-Munny, dubbed EL PANADERO. Abe adds: "This is my third custom vinyl and my first attempt at something bigger than a 3". I hope that you will share my work with your readers again." ~and there you go Abe!

Now I wanna see El Panadero duke it out with Lucha Alien in the ring (The "TOYSREVIL Toy-Ring" that is!) LuchaaaaAAAAAASSSSSssssss! ~LOL

SEDO-DUNNY-01
SEDO-DUNNY-02

There doesn't seem to be any information this SEDO Dunny custom-paint by bROTZ received in my inbox, but dark on black is always a draw for me. Check out more of this Indonesian-artist's work on http://brotzyeah.blogspot.com.

JASON-FREENY-QEE-WIP

What is ultimately true is the artist Jason Freeny openingly posts work-in-progress of his signature anatomical sculpting work on his Facebook, and folks can't seem to get enough of it. Known specifically in the past for his anatomical graphic-work, his toy figurines are based on existing characters, given a science-toy-slant with his x-rayed-visuals and see-thru skeletons. Liking what you're seeing already? Check out the new 5" Mini-Qee WIPs he's got his hands on now.

What do it really need to said about DrilOne's custom work? The fact that they might look like true metal figures gone thru the ravages of time and Earth's elements? Or that they look cool? (Like a treasure chest of toys sunken in the deep sea now "re-discovered-cool"). Check out there whole crew of awesome-rust figures heading down to Super7's ONE -OFFS group show on January 29th. I rest my case.

BIC-BUDDY-LANDO

Jon-Paul Kaiser shows off a custom 3" Bic Buddy channeling Lando in disguise from "Revenge Of The Jedi" (in Jabba The Hutt's desert lair? JPK needs to do a uge 8" Bic of Jabba lol). This is what JPK had to say about this commissioned custom:

"With the shape of the chin on the Bic Buddy, Lando Calrissian's disguise in Jabba's Palace from Return of the Jedi screamed out at me. I love the way it turned out and I'm particularly pleased with the chestplate detailing where it's been battered into shape."
