KAWS Companion in Singapore / Event Images for Art Stage Singapore (Jan 12-16)
"Art Stage Singapore" sees the debut of an art show at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore - showcasing the participation of over 120 galleries and 30 Project Stage exhibitions, between January 12th to 16th, 2011. And while traditional art may not be fully showcased on this blog, the very sight of a singular KAWS Companion statue, is surely worth a haphazard blog-mention, don't you think? CLICK THRU for more select images of the event, and pop by the event before it closes on Sunday. Admission is SGD$30 per day, SGD$10 per student.
The owner of the images (who remains anonymous) shares with us exclusively his personal impressions of the event: "Love the exhibition, Lots of great art works! some are really very interesting and inspiring! The exhibition showcases quite a number of paintings by Pablo Picasso too! and I was very surprise to see some art works from street artists like Faile, Hush and even Banksy! You should drop by MBS this weekend too cause the exhibition ends this Sunday. First time seeing the huge Kaws companion and the Banksy canvas right up close! Once in a life time experience for folks like us in SG!"
FYI: According to Joshua, the KAWS Companion statue belonged to one of the art galleries who are a part of the show. Will someone in Singapore walk home with a Companion before the show ends?
