Food & Friends in Jakarta 2010
WHAT: I was in Jakarta last year in late-September, as a Special Invited Guest by Plastic Culture for Munny World Festival Indonesia. I did not manage to finish my coverage. There are loads more to be shared. This is one such post…

I guess my experience in Jakarta can be summed up in two words: Friends and Food.
"Friends", no doubt the sheer number of peeps (both new and old) met on and off the Munny World Festival Indonesia, for which I was graciously hosted by Plastic Culture, as well the sheer amount of good food experienced during my near week-long stay there. Most times I relate to folks who had asked about my Stroke, was that being in Jakarta finally broke the camel's back, as I supped and dined in excess and indulgence! And no, no one is blamed at all, but it sure was a heck of a time!
And while I have posted abundantly about the artists (and their works), here are some food snaps I'd like to share with you guys, of places I've been too laxed to keep track of (sorry). I do not ever post as much about food here (as I do on my Can Eat Cannot Eat food blog) ~ but the food's hella good eating, and needs to be shared!
Arrived in Jakarta just in time for a late lunch ~ it begins…LOL
Oh look! There's a toy bear in the pic! This makes the pics postable here, yes? Heh :p
The Lamb was pretty good, the mash was decent, the curry was … interesting
...but the "Grandma's Tea" tasted awesome-cool!
So what happens after dinner at 11pm? After setting up for MWFI?
All the laptop comes out and it is Work at the restaurant!
Bestest Lamb-joint in town! Hardcore satays and Lamb with fried rice!
The absolute final word in midnight nasi makan…
Toast with cheese and chocolate ~ I can get with that :)
Porridge with grated cheese? ~ Might take me a while to get with that!
Hey, I celebrated my birthday past midnight at Blok M, so it's all good baby!
Ever the awesome invention of skewered and barbecued meats on sticks!

Tis a wonder how much two grown man can consume :p
I missed my flight out of Jakarta! And what am I rewarded with?
Waffles + IceCream, and Root Beer Float! A Tragedy turned Triumph!
Me with tied-up long hair, "back in da day"… :p
And here's a "Liang Teh" cheers to everyone!
