Upcoming Toys on TOYSREVIL (Feb/23/2011)
Emilio Garcia attempts an XL-sized "Jumping Brain" sculpture, with the one in the video and stills measuring approx 20x40x30cm, with the eventual sculpt possibly being finished in new materials like fiberglass, bronze, ceramics etc.
This is especially interesting as prior to the recent production in multicolored mini vinyls by Toy2R, Emilio actually hand-made the figures in resin, and were sold as such (We managed to review a Black Edition HERE). While hardly a "toy", tis great to see him back at the sculpting-desk nevertheless! Check out more WIPs on Emilio's Facebook album.
"Toy Knife" from Playge looking nifty-cool, with the string-work giving a hint to the size of the prototype-actual. But no, I have no idea how big it is - most probably life-sized tho ... or it is simply a "knife w/integrated bottle opener" as designed by Ferg.
A pretty "charming" find is this WRECKS and DAZEY vinyl figure-set spotted on Vinyl Pluse, manufactured by fledgling toy-makers Analog Playset, with character designs based on 2D illustrations by Joe Ledbetter for the cover of Motion City Soundtrack’s ‘My Dinosaur Life’ album (never heard of, sorry). The Dino stands 6" tall (including tail) while the Bee stands 3.5" tall (no, I doubt if it can actually "fly"), with a limit to 700 sets in this colorway. In this day and age, we can possibly expect further colorways, but that is not mentioned at all. Turnarounds ripped off from J.ME.'s blog.
