Toy-Review: Rupture by Doktor A from Android 2 Mini Collectible by DYZ Plastic

TOY-STORY: As previously blogged, the Android Mini Collectibles Series 2 is the second series release featuring the Google Android mascot as a 3-inch tall toy as produced and released by DYZ Plastic. Each display case consists of 16 x blind boxed containing a randomly placed toy within, with RUPTURE part of the basic assortment, with a ratio of 1/16 - which essentially mean you might get one figure in a selection of 16 figures.

Featured today is the RUPTURE Android with design by United Kingdom-based Doktor A [spookypop.com]. Doktor A is one of three "external" artists/designers invited to provide a design for Androids Series 2.

The "Rupture" design is a motif/concept Doktor A has established in a variety of toy-forms for which he has been involved in, including Dunnys, custom plushes, custom-sculpts and custom-works. The "Rupture" design is recognizable for it's pink body, with a black and white striped head featuring quirky icons for eyes, and a distinct abundance of "teeth", and as well swirly black motif-designs - the paint quality of which, was really crisp and clean, IMHO.



There is no need for me to gloss over a "wrap-up", as getting this Android is a real treat for the series, as well an aspect of the "low-brow art culture" spirit of the addition to this mass market toy. No doubt needed = get this if you can loose, and congrats if you score it via blind box pull!
