Faces of Indonesia @ Plastic Culture, Jakarta (June 11-12)
The OMI custom contest known as Faces Of Indonesia [Facebook-event page] launches tomorrow at Plastic Culture, in Grand Indonesia, Jakarta. Co-organized by Damn! I Love Indonesia, shown above is a quick snap of the wall of customs at P.C., and that is one heck of a "wall"! As well below is a trio of works from folks, to go alongside the others I have featured on TOYSREVIL. Stay tuned to the P.C. twiiter-stream @Plastic_Culture for up-to-date reports of the show tomorrow!

The OMI-form is created by U.S.A.-based Munky King, based on the design of a Chinese "wayang" mask, and the theme of this particular contest focuses on folks' portrayal and interpretation of Indonesia, and what a cultural contrast it is. The best 9 designs will be immortalized in Plastic Culture, with the Top 3 winners will be announced June 12th at Plastic Culture. Do Note: To collect your winnings, the winner MUST be present!
TOYSREVIL is one of the Media Sponsors of the event, and I wish I could be there in person! I am sure there are many stories to be told of the individual customs' influences and inspirations :)
