Custom-Feature: Vinylmation Pirates from Gary Ham, Jeff Lamm & Robert Lee
To coincide with the launch of "Vinylmation - Pirates Of The Carribean" series, Disney had gotten a bunch of artists to each customize a 9-inch Vinylmation figure for a scheduled release on July 1st [More here]. Shown here are a trio of customs featuring work from Gary Ham, Robert Lee (from Methane Studios) and Jeff Lamm, as well their impressions, as posted on the Vinylmation-blog.
"The inspiration behind the figure was to tell a story of pirate voyage and all that they encounter while in search of treasure. With silhouetted icons, I was able to encompass a wide range of things from the pirate world. I was also happy to incorporate some Mickey Mouse in there too. Look for the crossbones and key." ~ Gary Ham.
[Design by Robert Lee from Methane Studios]
""This figure was a fun piece to make. My inspiration came from the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' model kits made back in the 70's. I always loved the action of those kits. I liked the idea of skeletal pirates defending their treasure." ~ Jeff Lamm (whose custom will not be sold from July 1st).
