Post-SDCC Q&A with Gary Ham

TOYSREVIL: How was SDCC this year for you?

GARY HAM: AWESOME! I think J RYU best described what makes SDCC so great when he described his favorite moment. Always nice to hang with old friends and gain new ones. The toy community is amazing and it's very cool to meet and put a face to a lot of people I've only known as avatar images from social sites, forums, etc.

TOYSREVIL: What was your favorite part of SDCC this year? And least favorite?

GARY HAM: I have many great memories from it. SDCC is something I look forward to all year. It's an exciting place to be and one of the few times I get to hang out with friends from the toy community. One of the coolest things I saw was the CocoMoca Flaming C Fan Art Museum. Every year there is lots of fun and cool finds outside of the convention hall to seek out.

If I had to pick a least favorite, it would be that the designer toy section is so close to some of the major media booths like Capcom and WB. Those booths can be really loud and cause some major congestion. I felt like we had to shout most of the time. It's probably why so many had wrecked voices, or maybe that was karaoke? :P

Being near the major media booths also makes it tough when you need to step away from the booth for a bit. It's funny because anytime someone in our booth would mention they were stepping away to use the rest room, it was an understood "see you in 20-30 minutes". The crowd just swallows ya up!

TOYSREVIL: Has this year's offerings/variety/vendors/products met your expectations?

GARY HAM: Everyone really steps it up for SDCC. Never disappoints. I bought lots of things for friends and family, but didn't forget to treat myself to some goodies.

TOYSREVIL: Would you go again next year if you had the chance to?

GARY HAM: No doubts about it.

FYI: Gary mentioned he had not taken any pics for SDCC this year. Additional booth images posted here via Gary's Facebook.
