Announcement for Helmetgirls: Origins Graphic Novel by Camilla D'Errico

We've previously seen both gorgeous imagery, a website and even cosplay of Helmet girls (both online and at events) and now, Illustrator Camilla D'Errico will be developing the concept as a graphic novel, with 'Helmetgirls: Origins'!
Scheduled for a release in 2012 - fellow Eisner-award nominee Joshua Dysart (B.P.R.D., Unknown Soldier) will write the new original graphic novel, and Camilla d'Errico will provide art for the 140-page book inspired by her Helmetgirls portraits. Check out the behind-the-scenes sketches of the characters above (via), as well previously released color artwork. Gorgeous.
Full details of the Helmetgirls: Origins graphic novel will be revealed at this year's New York Comic Con (along with more announcements for the Tanpopo series). Folks can also score themselves a special art print of the Helmetgirls: Origins teaser poster called "Caverns" via store.camilladerrico.com - do so before Aug 31st where the 2 prints for US$30 situation is still n effect!
