MaxToyCo-Monday: Toy Review of Drazoran (Mini Kaiju Series) from Max Toy Co
TOY-STORY: From the Mini Kaiju Series, this Mini Kaiju Drazoran is cast in Pink Neon vinyl by Shimizu-san in Japan, and hand painted by Mark Nagata using Monster Kolor paints. Limited to less than 20 pieces - each is priced at US$40 and available to order online here. Bagged with header-card, this is a Made In Japan product.
Interestingly the story of Captain Maxx is 'told' in the header-card and seems to be aimed at folks with clarity of vision for such small fonts (and not the fine print in disclaimers, mind you) so I am uncertain it is as effective, at the very least in my case.
I have developed a certain color-penchant for "PINK" (yes, I am in touch with my pink-side in tastes) since being neck-deep in all-things-toys all these years, and this Drazoran from Max Toy Co melted my toy-loving-heart the moment I grasped it tenderly in my palms!
The blue and gold color-tinge to the figure really set-off the pink, and as well heightened the visual aesthetics of this figure. The whiff of black at the tips of it's back spikes was a truly inspiring touch, I must insist.
And while I am unsure if it is the final glossy-coat or the eye-popping quality of the Monster Kolor used, the finished figure is amazing to behold, and frankly my dismal photography here cannot fully portray it's awesomeness - and no that is not hyperbole on my part!
Sole articulation of this diminutive monster is at it's neck, and as well the head readily pops out (and decently popped back in and is secure) where you can see the "original" pinkness of the figure. And darn that is an awesome hue, isn't it?
This is popular subculture at it's acid-best, neon colors subvert the genre past the point of kitsch unto the realm of COOL and this is one such product that brightens up your collection, whatever genre you may collect. Desirable? HECK YES!
