PRESS RELEASE: The 2011 STGCC Opens Its Doors This Weekend (20 & 21 August 2011)
PRESS-RELEASE: The 2011 Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) will open its doors to fans and the public this weekend. It will take place on 20 & 21 August, 10am – 8pm, at the Suntec Convention Centre.
This year’s STGCC promises to be a weekend packed with superhero talent including well-known comic writers and illustrators from Marvel Comics and DC Comics, cult toy designers and popular Eastern pop culture personalities. Fans will be excited to know that international and local exhibitors such as Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Hot Toys, HARRIS Planerds, Maxsoft C/O Nintendo, Dooodolls, SingPost, Harley Yee Rare Comics, are also participating this year.
Over 80 exclusive collectibles and new product launches such as an exclusive Singapore cover to the Captain America #1 issue, will be up for grabs at the event.
Marvel Comics has also revealed the debut cover-works drawn by Singapore artist, Benjamin Ang, who was signed to Marvel Comics earlier this year after being handpicked by Marvel international talent scout, C.B. Cebulski, at last year’s STGCC. The two cover-works are for Marvel’s X23 and The Amazing Spiderman.
