Custom-Feature: Python Storm Lord by Pop Prolific
"A private collector had acquired one of my custom Python Force Benders (of which I only made 2 pieces). He was so into the figure that about a month ago he commissioned me to create an original Python themed figure to go with the Force Bender. After seeing pictures of a guy at SDCC in a crazy elaborate Samurai Stormtrooper costume, we collaborated to come up with the "Python Storm Lord". I had a lot of fun putting this guy together and it was such an amazing piece to develop."
"The top of the helmet and the Samurai Armors are all hand made resin castes that I produced in my studio. The black head decoration on the helmet is an original laser cut design. The face is a Tomy At-At Pilot helmet that I repurposed for this project. The "square-mail" is from this awesome plastic trim that I found and altered. Each square was sewn onto the Python fabric Skirt.
Around the time that I was commissioned to make this piece, I received other inquiries about making a figure that mashed together Samurais and Stormtroopers. So, I decided to make "Python Storm Lord V2"
"I wanted the original commissioned piece to remain unique. After researching Samurai uniforms, I went with different details that still maintained a look of a traditional Samurai fused with the Stormtrooper look. There's so many Japanese inspired looks in the Star Wars universe that it wasn't difficult to mix it up. This guy has Clone chest armor (instead of the Stormtrooper armor on the previous piece) and recasted resin Anakin Skywalker Boots. He also sports some more armor on his helmet that layers over the arm armor.... this guy has way more protection against projectiles."
"The one of a kind custom "Python Storm Lord V2" piece is being sold exclusively at the Kidrobot New York store. The figure comes with an original resin figure designed by my wife, Mariangela Tan... Sculpted, casted and painted by me.... Sextopus features 3 different face sides: an eye, a nose and a mouth. if you aquire a few you can compose a whole face. The Sextopus figure was originally designed as a needle felted scultpure and is the first in a series of new multi legged characters that will be on our Label111 site very soon….." ~shares Justin Volpe at Pop Prolific
