About Those Changes for Designer Toy Awards 2012

DTA-2012

An while I've posted the announcement of the Designer Toy Awards 2012 a few days ago, this particular post today focuses on a few key changes for the event, from last year's inaugural DTAs. Here they are in simple bullet-points, for your understanding pleasures:

01. Two categories have been removed from the DTAs - "to make the awards more concise": (A) "Most Influential Event", and (B) "Best Functional Toy".

02. "Nominating Committees" have been set-up to digest and discern the qualification of nominees in the awards. No free-for-all nominating and voting this round.

03. The Nominating Committees will reduce the entries to five nominees in each category for Board-voted awards and ten nominees in each category for Community Choice voted awards.

04. Nominations will be announced on the Designer Toy Awards Nominating Party, which will take place in San Diego during SDCC week, and placed on the Designer Toy Awards website shortly thereafter.

05. This year's award ceremony will be taking place in New York City during NYCC in October. (Last year it was during the SDCC period).

06. "This year we also created a special rule governing the The Lifetime Achievement Award: Rather than opening this award to public entry, Designer Toy Awards staff shall will create a short list of potential recipients for the Lifetime Achievement Award. This short list shall be considered the list of nominees. ~mentioned Clutter.

Go it? Good. Now go nominate TOYSREVIL on www.designertoyawards.com for Best Blog this year, if you so please, folks!
