Pacific Rim @ New York Comic Con 2012: Reveal of Robot in WW2-themed Poster

PACIFIC_RIM_NYCC

With the release of this exclusive piece of Pacific Rim art in the Legendary Entertainment booth (#1620) at New York Comic Con 2012, we get to see the giant robots for the film (or rather another incarnation, compared to the earlier reveal? hhmmm), created by Spanish artist Raúl Monge (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy 2), who serves as a Concept Artist for the Pacific Rim movie.
""Raúl is one of my top concept designers. The idea with this particular piece was to emulate an old WWII propaganda poster/flyer that went along with the world we were creating,” said director Guillermo del Toro. “It symbolizes rationing - voluntary work force, no guts, no glory kind of heroism." The art will be unveiled at the Legendary panel on Friday, October 12 at 5:15 pm. As well a Pacific Rim graphic novel will be announced, and will serve as a prequel to the upcoming film.
