RSCLS Presents - SOLIDARITY 21: An Urban Cultural Exchange (June 28-30)

SGP X MNL: "While the whole world is starting to look to the East as a more sustainable environment, in terms of business and commerce, Asia is on a cultural spin from mostly rural to a whole new Urbanized Orient, which places its artists, especially urban artists, on a bleeding edge, hence, giving them a fresh take on documenting the nuances of urban living.

Solidarity 21 is a project that seeks to establish, archive, and document the existence and growth of urban arts as a culture and an art discipline in the Asian region. The future goal for this project involves releasing a video documentary and publishing a book that will document the discipline of urban arts in Asia from a historical and critical standpoint."

SOLIDARITY 21: SG x MNL URBAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE
"The inaugural leg of Solidarity 21 will take place in Singapore and Manila. Singapore and The Philippines has had an integral relationship in terms of labor and immigration, and Solidarity 21 takes the next step forward in an effort to explore Manila’s burgeoning graffiti and street art scene in the form of a cultural exchange between the two countries. Solidarity21 is the principal program initiated by RSCLS to create a regional sharing network for urban arts. It is also a program that seeks to document, archive and provide an understanding and education of street art and graffiti as an art form in the context of each different city in Asia."
