And Winners For The 2014 - 86th Academy Awards "Geekdom Oscars" Are …

And while I am not too disillusioned (although undoubtably "biased") to even consider mentioning this, but wouldn't it be great if some geekdom "ive-action" films like "Man of Steel", "Iron Man" or even "Kick-Ass" get some sort of Oscar-nods in the Academy Awards? A simple "Best Comicbook Adaptation On Screen" or somesuch award, might make fanboys cream themselves, even by just a wee squeak? (I'll even provide the twin-ply!)

Do not these genre-films include fictionalized "drama"? Even a healthy sprinkle of "comedy"? For sure the closest category genre-films (whom really need an actual "Category"-name ... but let's go with "Comicbook-Adated Screenplay", shall we?) are nominated for is "Best Visual Effects" (listed below are the films nominated = YAY!).

Of course I am assuming somewhere on the www-realms some enterprising website has their own "Geek Awards"-concept (not that I am aware of any tho…) - celebrating exactly this notion - is underway ... but really, I can imagine a red carpet event for such a circumstance featuring mascots and cosplayers! (Pssst: Best bet would be timed for a geekdom-based convention, IMHO). Isn't there one? :)
