Introducing "The MERRYNERS" from Doubleparlour x Toy Art Gallery for DEATH RIDES AGAIN @ Toy Art Gallery (Opening Aug 9)
Debuting at the Saturday August 9th opening of DEATH RIDES AGAIN at Toy Art Gallery (Tagged #onTOYSREVIL / Facebook Event) are Doubleparlour's first ever VINYL TOYS produced by TAG, featuring "Chap", "Fenn", "Kipp" and "Uwie", collectively known as the "Merryners"! Here are some snaps to gawk at and a TOYSREVIL-exclusive micro-Q&A I had with Cassie and Ernie!
TOYSREVIL: Were "Merryners"characters who existed before, or created specifically to be made vinyl with TAG?
DOUBLEPALOUR: The Merryners are new characters, and a jovial bunch.
TOYSREVIL: We know their names (and I'm trying to figure out who is who) - but is there anything specific we should know about them? And how to tell them apart?
DOUBLEPALOUR: They are friends, but from different backgrounds. They share a common bond of looking for any excuse to celebrate, no matter how trivial it is.
They like to wear similar outfits when they get together which eventually became their uniform ..the skull belt and shoes with teeth hey call "killer shoes."
They all wear bowler type hats. Chap has a hat with horns, Uwie has a cat. Kipp and Fenn both have similar monster hats (Kipp's is shorter and more insect looking).
