TOYSREVIL-Reviews: 梦思 Stickers by SHEEP
The name "Sheep Chen" AKA "SHEEP" might not be a particular name or moniker familiar to most readers of this humble blog … but he should be. And he will be.
China-born and based, SHEEP is best described as an "urban artist", and is also part of the local urban crew RSCLS. One glance thru his Instagram @sheep513 shows that his skills are beyond physical walls and imagination. On further viewing, you will witness the variety of art and projects he has done.
One such "project", is this sticker pack, gifted to me a few weeks back when we met, and only today have I opened it's contents, and with this, I'd like to introduce to you, SHEEP~!
Beyond the practicality of 2 stickers per design (one to use, one to keep ~ Duh), the designs itself exude a style exclusive somewhat of what you might find on his IG or blog, with the cy-aesthetics appealing to me personally.
Sealed in a black pack, the text on the cover is a combination of the words "Dream" (梦 / Meng4) and "Think" (思 / Xian3) which is also a play on the words "Aspiration" and/or "Imagination", as are the text found on the stickers themselves; a melding of ideology and cultures. One oft used word on this blog, but nevertheless apt: "AWESOME".
Singapore will soon welcome Sheep as an art student in search of higher learning, and possibly more creation of arts here in our little red dot of an island. Looking forward to be featuring Sheep's work on TOYSREVIL! And of adding some of his stickers to my current laptop "project" :)
