TOYSREVIL @ #CelebrateTheForce @ Suntec City, East Atrium (May 2-3) #StarWarsDay Event in Singapore

Singaporeans LOVE Star Wars. There never needs any doubt on this matter. From couples to families, from the cosplayers to the toy collectors who exhibit their own collections for free, "Celebrate The Force" was indeed a rousing affair, when I visited the venue about half-pass 11am (…missed the Opening Ceremony tho ~ ggrr).

Held at the ground floor atrium in the East Atrium at Suntec City (between Towers 3 & 4), the occasion is FREE to enter, and happens between 11am to 6pm, on May 2nd and May 3rd Sunday.

I'll do a more in-depth series of features later, for now I'll just "tease" you folks for what to expect, and you should head-on down tomorrow to experience this once-a-year event!

The main stage anchors the venue, with a splendid touch of "local" with "WA SI LIN LAO PEH"** from a word balloon of Darth Vader sitting amidst an office (shutout by the splendid Eddie Sung, no less!). FightSaber performed and as well taught young padawans the ways of the lighter, and there was a cosplay contest too!

On one side was photobooth, where for a dedicatd sum, you could have your picture taken against a large background ala a blister-card for an action figure. Money goes into charity, with the chosen charity for this event being Make A Wish Foundation, Singapore.

Hot Toys's distributer in Singapore, Action City had 1/6th-scaled Stormtroopers on display, fearing the 2-Pck, and the gorgeous Shadow Stormtrooper. On per-order was the Space Stormtrooper (which debut at Star Wars Celebrations, in Anaheim), but the figure itself was absent. (More images HERE on FB).

Band Of Doodlers represented at two areas- one with the "live" doodling on a wall-panel (video above), while on the flip-side, they had exhibited original artwork - for sales at an insanely affordable SG$50 per piece, while customized Vader helmets were displayed beside. And quite a few were already spoken for too, including this Colossal Titan-themed Vader from Pedmons (more pics in a separate post). Not to mention the spectacular Grumpy-CatVader by 3EYEBODIES!

You could also commission on the spot, wit a VADER helmet/head for SGD$200 and a canvas for SGD$25. All proceeds go to charity!

One aspect of the show which I enjoyed was the SW-photography exhibition, "Celebrate The Force Through Our Lens" - whereby images of Star Wars TOYS and even cosplay were taken and produced in fantastic visuals, which you need to see in-person (rarer than me snapping images which do them no justice LOL).

As well prints of the images are also available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the chosen charity of the event.

Of course not forgetting the TOYS! Out in full force was a long island display focusing primarily on the vehicles of the lore, of course including action figures, custom-painted, model kits and custom lightsaber hilts! Courtesy of the friends of

Vintage Star Wars toys on display behind panels were an eye-opener (More images HERE on FB), Jeffrey Koh of FLABSLAB (one of the organizers) also mentioned on Facebook;
"Many outside the vintage Star Wars toy collecting circle probably don't know that in this tiny island of ours, we've one of the biggest collectors of high grade carded vintage Star Wars figures in the world."

Folks can purchase Star Wars mechanize at the event too, including LEGOs and goodies from vendors, while Toys'R'Us had a few shelves offering pegged ction figures to school bags for children, featuring Star Wars imagery, of course!

There are load more to see and experience at #CelebrateTheForce, so be sure not to miss out! Check out the event's Facebook page or updates and photo contributions by other attendees and fellow SW-fans. And don't forget to snag this awesomeness featured below (I didn't, so bummer me :/)

The first 100 attendees each day this weekend will get a poster for the Digital Movie Collection. Ohh and also, it'll...

FYI: **"Wa Si Lin Lao Peh" is Hokkien translated to "I Am Your Father" LOL
