Giant Robot Presents: The Study of Life as Things featuring Edwin Ushiro (Opens July 18)

EVENT PRESS: "Giant Robot 2 (GR2) is proud to present The Study Of Life as Things, a solo exhibition by Edwin Ushiro.
Edwin Ushiro is back following his exhibition, "Gathering Whispers," in 2014. This year, he follows with a solo exhibition of drawings, "The Study of Life as Things." Each drawing is made via ballpoint pen, markers, pens, color pencils and graphite on Neenah UV/Ultra II translucent paper, 36 lb. 11" x 8.5."
Please join us at the opening reception on Saturday, July 18th. Artist Edwin Ushiro will be in attendance." (RSVP on Facebook)

Edwin explains why he chose a size similar to a standard sheet of paper: "The majority of the artwork is sized at 11" x 8.5" in. The reason for that is my Dad worked as a technician on copy machines and cash registers. He would need to print a test copy on the copy machines and saved them so that I could draw on the unused back side of the paper." (Additional artwork previews via hifructose.com)
