CCA Recruitment at ITE Central 2016
Enroute to my first day of school yesterday saw a downpour which provided much needed relief to a sweltering week of humidity and an abundance of sweat, and to be greeted by the strains of a jazzed-version of Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer" made me feel immediately at ease, inspite of the ginormous throng of students crowding up the entire level of ITE Central in Ang Mo Kio - A CCA Recruitment Drive was afoot! (A spill over of Orientation Week, perhaps)
A trio of booths caught my attention, to which I promptly made a nuisance of myself by chatting the students manning the booths and showed them my Instagrams of toys (too eager to geekout but realized immediately folks might've thought I was insane or some-such stranger, whatever LOL).
If I were a "student", I would've joined up in a heartbeat … remembering 3 decades ago, the only CCA/ECA I joined as being a "Librarian" LOL - and it is utterly awesome folks can geekout on their desired hobbies!
The Miniature Hobby Club had mini models made of super sculpey (should've gotten them unto the MIME youtube channel :p) and ZOIDS and mecha builds … while I'd gone and bugged the guys at the 3D Printing Club for TOYS they had printed - which was a unfinished Minion too! And finally the Japanese Pop Culture Research Club showcased a variety of activities that got my attention indeed! Alas, before I had a chance to take a snap with their "Chihiro"-cosplay (from Studio Ghilbli's "Spirited Away"), I had to rush back to begin my first class of the new semester…
Enjoy your CCA and Hobbies, folks!
Cheers

WHAT IS "CCA": "Co-curricular activities (CCAs), previously known as Extracurricular Activities (ECA) are non-academic activities that all Singaporean students must participate in. This policy was introduced by the Ministry of Education, as a means to enhance social interaction, leadership, healthy recreation, self-discipline and self-confidence." (Wiki)
