Unbox Industries To Collaborate with Alejandro Jodorowsky & Abkco Films On Collectibles
"The contract is agreed so we can proudly announce our forthcoming collaboration with Alejandro Jodorowsky & Abkco Films.
Unbox have been working directly with Mr Jodorowsky who is personally overseeing the approval process on a series of statues based on his work. A variety of materials will be used but the first releases are produced as limited edition cold cast resin figures cast from original sculptures by Andrea Blasich", shared Dan Willet for Unbox Industries (on Instagram), and as well added; "I know many people are probably anticipating vinyl figures (there will be different releases in vinyl too at a later stage) but I hope folks will understand why we took this direction when we finally share the work. Thanks as always to everyone that supports what we do!"
SYNPOPSIS: "In a corrupt, greed-fueled world, a powerful alchemist leads a Christ-like character and seven materialistic figures to the Holy Mountain, where they hope to achieve enlightenment."
Unbox has been in the recent past been teasing imagery from 1973's "The Holy Mountain" and 1970's "El Topo" (images montaged and shown up top) on their Instagram @unboxindutries - films which Jodorowsky had written for, directed and acted in (trailers featured here). Would be interesting to see who gets the statue treatment!
Alejandro Jodorowsky is famous in this current generation for being the never-was director for "DUNE" in the documentary "Jodorowsky's Dune" (directed by Frank Pavich). But I am sure there are fans of his work which would be more than delighted to see his creations manifest and continue their legacy, beyond DVD or Blu-Ray boxed sets, methinks!
SYNPOPSIS: "A mysterious black-clad gunfighter wanders a mystical Western landscape encountering multiple bizarre characters."
