The Island of Non-Licensed Toys from DKE Toys @ New York Comic Con #NYCC2016
I’d remember the “earlier” days of bloggery, when I’d be excited over seeing what DKE Toys had at their booths in SDCC/NYCC, when they were “distributers” - where we could have chances of seeing NEW figures and/or upcoming prototypes! Since then, individual creators and designers have chosen to showcase their own wares in their own (or collective) booths, and DKE has since left the distribution game …
BUT, they have since embraced the “non-licensed collectible” notion, and their current booth-space at New York Comic-Con 2016 (Oct 6-9) is filled and fuelled with pop culture hijacks and is without question becoming an epitome of (blister carded) indie toy making collective in the USA, IMHO!
