AMERICAN GODS Premieres April 30th on Starz

"When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it."

Thus far we’ve been treated to a bevy of online videos, including trailers, featurettes, even the show’s Opening Title Sequence, Individual Character Features and posters - showcasing both the “Old” and “New” Gods - with in this pagan sense, is “literal” in their depiction, from many a cultures and beliefs as well.

And while I’ve been blogging earnestly about this show on my iliketeevee blog, this is the first time “American Gods” has appeared on TOYSREVIL. And as I am anticipating the hell out of this series, I’d like to share my anticipation with my readers HERE :)

As invested as I am about “superhero” / “comicbook”-themed/inspired media these days, THIS instead is another take on the subject very closely linked with “super-powers”, or as some would exclaim; “God-like Powers”!

Besides the story, I am looking forward to the visual splendour that awaits, seen/"promised" in the various media promotions ... drench me in the neon darkness!
