Speakers, Talks, Workshops & Free Screenings at Illustration Arts Fest 2017
And while I have been featuring goodies to be had at the Artist Market for this year’s Illustration Arts Fest, let’s now take a look at the SPEAKERS who will be holding seminars and workshops at this 2-day weekend event, to be held August 12-13th at Lasalle College of the Arts campus at 1 McNally Street, Singapore.
Louis Rigaud and Anouk Boisrobert from France will be having two sessions on Saturday August 12th, with “Make Pop-up Books with Louis & Anouck” workshop (10.30am to 12pm / Tix at SG$45 per person), and "From Paper to Digital - Pop-up books + Apps" talk (2pm to 3pm / Tix at SG$20 per).
Both gentlemen specialise in pop-up, in cut-out paper or digital, and they often conduct workshops around their work.
“Icinori” (icinori.com), aka Mayumi Otero & Raphael Urwiller are a French duo whose collaborative efforts have seen them illustrate, design, print and publish works across a range of mediums.
They will be holding two sessions on Sunday August 13th, with “Picture Book making with ICINORI” workshop (10.30am to 12pm / Tix at SG$45 per person), and “Constructing an Image” Talk (3.30pm to 4.30pm / Tix at SG$20 per)
Chiaos / Tseng Din Yuan 角斯角斯 hails from Taiwan facebook.com/creatchaos), and he will be conducting a "Chiaos- Spirits, Monsters and beyond" talk on Sat 12th August 2017 at 3.30pm to 4.30pm (SG$20 per ticket).
Having majored in film studies, Chiaos Tseng ( 角斯角斯 ) now works in illustration, and graphic design work. He primarily likes to work with water colour and acrylic paints when illustrating, having done work for magazines and newspapers, but is now focused on personal illustrations.
Singapore-based Kristal Melson (www.kristalmelson.com) will be sharing with folks her journey from being a salaried graphic designer to a successful full-time indie designer/ illustrator.
"Blood Sweat and Unicorn Tears - A DIY guide to self taught illustrations" happens on Sunday, August 13th (2pm to 3pm) at SG$20 per ticket.

FREE TALK #2: “Roasted Chicken Platter with Extra Barbecue Pork and Roasted Duck on the Side” by Tell Your Children in F201 (FREE Entry) on Sunday August 13th (12pm - 1pm).
"This is a casual dialogue on their journey thus far and the perils that awaits one when attempting to step out of their comfort zone, while balancing a constant need for reinvention of ones philosophies, maturity and artistic abilities in the process."
And it is not all about 2D prints+publications, as folks get to see moving animated visuals at the Cartoon UnderGround Screening (in F201) on both Saturday August 12th (1pm - 2pm) and Sunday August 13th (also 1pm - 2pm). Entry is FREE.
