Featurette for Netflix’s “BRIGHT”: Introducing "Ward" and "Jakoby"

Here’s a new “Featurette” for the upcoming David Ayer-directed original movie on Netflix: “BRIGHT” - which stars Will Smith as “Daryl Ward”, and Joel Edgerton as the first Orc police officer “Nick Jakoby”, ”…in an alternate present-day where magical creatures live among us, two L.A. cops become embroiled in a prophesied turf battle.”

This featurette is also in anticipation of a new trailer releasing October 25th, 2017.

As eager as I am to watch this project (Premieres December 22nd on Netflix), I also understand the need for such behind-the-scenes promos to “educate” folks on what to expect. For folks who are familiar with the genre(s), it might be a hard road of temptation (*RAISES HANDS*), but here’s hoping the wait will be worth it.

One particular aspect of this film as well interests me, is actress Veronica Ngo (as “Tien”), and it has been AGES since I’ve worked with her in a local TV series, a lifetime ago!

Featured below is the first trailer (released earlier in July 2017) - and while I’ve since posted on my TV-blog and Film-blog, but NOT here on TOYSREVIL!

WHAT-IS “BRIGHT”: "Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

Bright is available only on Netflix this December. Bright is directed by David Ayer (Training Day, End of Watch, Suicide Squad) stars Will Smith (Men in Black), Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Lucy Fry (11.22.63), Edgar Ramirez (Hands of Stone, Zero Dark Thirty), Margaret Cho (Drop Dead Diva), and Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad). The movie is written by Max Landis (Chronicle) and produced by Ayer, Eric Newman (Narcos) and Bryan Unkeless (The Hunger Games). The Netflix Original Film will launch globally this December. "
