Let Me Show You Some Heartland CNY Dogs!
Chinese New Year is coming around the corner, and now is the time where festive red-and-gold takes over the white snow-flaked christmas of 2017 (though not everywhere is the same :p), and flood the masses with colors and incessant CNY-songs! And especially since it's the Year of the Dog, all manner of canines line the shelves now - from graphic decor, to plush and cushions!
And these are hardly what you might call "designer-toys", in fact far from it! What they are can be used as a basic indication / reference to what mass market brand-less offerings can be found in public now. Not to mention all the DOG-imagery and related products and merch start crowding the shelves too LOL
Regardless of "pedigree", they do constitute "character design" and are examples of how merchandise are derived from said character designs, IMHO.
Here in the heartland malls of Singapore (these were all taken at Loyang Point in the East, displayed temporarily at the main atriums of malls), posted here are just select snap shots of what you can find. While I am unsure if it's "racist" of me to assume all/most of the products are/were Made In China (I myself am a Teochew Chinese Singaporean, so chillax :p), but gosh do I adore the Kitschy-Oriental designs to be had during this festive season!
