Hasbro Announced To Do Uglydolls Movie Toys!
STX Entertainment and Hasbro have been announced to be joining forces in advance of the Uglydolls movie, reported variety.com.
And while we've first featured the news of the feature film earlier in May 2015, and subsequently when Robert Rodriguez was announced to be directing the film(!), the "toy" collaboration is set to become a much bigger happening that we've had the pleasure of seeing >Uglydoll and their toy-presence thru the years (on this blog and in-person back in 2009), pushing the brainchild of David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim into a much wider audience, than it already is.
It would be interesting if we get to see beyond more plush, and into other genres/materials of toys, more likely based on the characters from the movie. Variety also reported; "In addition to the upcoming feature film, STX has Uglydolls projects in the works across the company’s multiple divisions, including its television, virtual reality, and games arms."
"Uglydolls is a brand with deep history and tremendous equity, and we are thrilled to work with STX to bring the Uglydolls story to life in all new ways via rich storytelling and immersive play experiences," Hasbro senior vice president Samantha Lomow said a statement.

"Our roots are deeply intertwined with a profound love for the toy industry," said David Horvath of Pretty Ugly, LLC. "We've been fans of Hasbro's toy lines for ages, and are great admirers of their creativity and aesthetic sensibility.
