Welcome to Marwen - Trailer & Poster

This is for all you 1/6th-scaled action figures collectors = "Military"-buffs, or otherwise! (www.welcometomarwen.com)

PRESS: "This holiday season, Academy AwardĀ® winner Robert Zemeckisā€”the groundbreaking filmmaker behind Forrest Gump, Flight and Cast Awayā€”directs Steve Carell in the most original movie of the year. Welcome to Marwen tells the miraculous true story of one broken manā€™s fight as he discovers how artistic imagination can restore the human spirit."

PRESS (CONTINUES): "When a devastating attack shatters Mark Hogancamp (Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic. As he builds an astonishing art installationā€”a testament to the most powerful women he knowsā€”through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one.

In a bold, wondrous and timely film from this revolutionary pioneer of contemporary cinema, Welcome to Marwen shows that when your only weapon is your imaginationā€¦youā€™ll find courage in the most unexpected place.

The epic drama is produced by OscarĀ®-winning producer Steve Starkey (Forrest Gump, Flight), Jack Rapke (Cast Away, Flight), and Cherylanne Martin (The Pacific, Flight) of Zemeckisā€™ Universal-based ImageMovers banner produce alongside the director. It is executive produced by Jackie Levine, as well as Jeff Malmberg, who directed the riveting 2010 documentary that inspired the film."

I wonder if only "old time-collectors" like myself recognise the Dragon Model articulated bodies used for "Mark"? One of my favourite bodies - even though through the decades - featuring a "slimmer", less muscle-bound form, remembering the "clickitty-click" sounds of the joints LOL

Watching this trailer for the first time immediately tugged me back into my (earlier) toyhood, where my 1/6th-scaled dreams were bursting beyond my own hobby-escapades and unto my reel-life, when I had wanted/planned to film a stop-motion project using 1/6th, which unfortunately fell to the wayside, ironically just as the TOYSREVIL-blog was borne... THIS is pretty "inspirational", I have to say ...

Cheers,
