#TOYNEWS #TodayonTOYSREVIL: May 28/2019 Five Points Edition (Part 2)
Showcased here in this #TodayonTOYSREVIL-blogpost today is "Part Two" to the previous "Five Points Edition", this time a focus on Asian artists and their toy-art making their way over to the United States @ the Brooklyn Expo Center (@ 72 Noble St, Green Point, Brooklyn 11222) on the weekend of June 1st and 2nd, for Five Points Festival 2019!
All originators are linked to their Instagrams (in case you want to check in for post-event availability of their goodies :p), with prices stated whenever there are revealed. Onward, and Happy Toy Hunting, people!
Available at Booth #725 are new TOGEMAL Editions from @knavetokyo <- whom you might need to follow their Insta for further info and accessibility to their sofubi figures! While no specific prices are mentioned (Psst: Recent releases has been between 13,500 yen to 16,500 yen per), but I don't really expect them to stay around for long :p
The third release from the nu:synth initiative UN:SYNTH Heroes series (*in collaboration with the Punk Drunkers), is AITSURER the enigmatic Cyborg figure (featured above), and GLYNINJA Dark (featured below) - a special release from the nu:synth initiative Glyosynth series, will be available at the @1000toys Booth #524, along with these other goodies. I've long been a fan of these 1/12th-scaled blister-carded series, but have yet to add a single figure to my collection!!!
This X-Ray edition of RAT FINK from Ed “Big Daddy” Roth X Secret Base will be avail. exclusively at the Toy Tokyo Booth #437. Price and Quantity TBC.
This 190mm tall "Matte Black Gold ver." has since sold out on secret-b.com (Price was 19,440 yen = approx. US$178).
Personally I truly appreciate "menus" of products, as it helps me plan my purchases with what $$$ I have, and Japan's Sunguts never disappoints! A trio of new colorway releases from Taiwan's SHON await folks at Booth #334 for Paradise & The Little Hut, including the "Morningstar" Edition of Hug Hug Cat! Check in with Insta @shonside, and as well Insta @thelittlehutco where they will be presenting works from Asian artists @deharayukinori, @dan_kaiju, @teresachiba, @uamou, @009lifejam and @kasinglung too.
New APO Frogs from South Korean designer/design studio Twelvedot will be debuting at their Booth #227. Stay connected to their Insta @twelvedot for further updates beyond this sole pic of a grey APO in a hawt pink coat!
Los Angeles-based anime-toys retailer "Anime Jungle" (@jungle_sp_collectors_la) will be hosting @mitsurinstudios and his spread of Japanese sofubi (see menu above / Details here) at Booth #542, which includes Yasuyuki Kobayashi's "Kudamon EX Curry Monster Karegon" and "GID Karegon" = each priced at US$180. I've had my eye on this figure since my first post in 2018, and hope to one day add this delectable dish to my humble collection! *rubs-hands-frantically*
Hong Kong based @MechNoiz Toys has announced their 6.5” Skull King Ultra 1st Colorway - with "Samurai-V" making its debut at @korekoreuk Booth #230. Featuring 14 points of articulations (identical to the full size version), and equipped with a pair of katanas, if you haven't figured out by now, the colors are inspired by "Voltron"!
