Currently on display at San Diego Comic Con 2019 (18-21 July) via the Unruly Industries Booth #2649, is "GURU DEL TORO: MAESTRO OF MONSTERS" from from illustrator & storyteller from Guayaquil, Ecuador; Chogrin Muñoz!
"This figure is based on an illustration I created in tribute to Guillermo del Toro and his filmography. Guillermo has always been a patron for misunderstood creatures and an inspiration for artists around the world. I wanted to create an image that captured all those things in one... And so, I give you Guru del Toro: Maestro of Monsters!" (www.chogrin.com / Insta @Chogrin)
Featured above are WIP-sketches leading up tp the current form (sculpted by Taylor B / Insta @shyailu), and as well a nifty image of director Guillermo del Toro himself, holding the FIRST incarnation of the piece - then known as "Buddha del Toro" (which I actually here) - made as part of "GUILLERMO DEL TORO: IN SERVICE OF MONSTERS" from 2015 (curated by Chogrin himself)! Incidentally, the original one-off was actually purchased by del Toro himself at the show!
