UPDATED: Stands approximately 12", each figure is made from Sapele Wood with a beautiful semi-gloss finish and is detailed by hand. Each comes packaged in unique wooden packing box with official COA, with a scheduled October 2019 ship out.
REMARKS: ToyQube yet again collaborates with Tezuka Productions to produce this WOODEN sculpt version of their "Greetings" ASTRO BOY - previously released in color and all-black "Thai Greeting" editions, with this next incarnation made from Sapele Wood ("each one is unique from the other"), and from the images, look larger/taller than the 10-inch tall version!
Designed by Keith Poon, the advent of "wood" used for designer toys was somewhat of a "thing" not too long ago too, and it is always interesting to see "traditions vinyl" go the way of natural wood (*BE@RBRICKS andCoarse collectibles come into mind), and the heightened prestige and price-point that comes with the collectible, IMHO .... somehow gives the "ART" aspect more heft?
Of course there are tons more products that originate from wood - examples being Noferin's PECANPALS pr Amanda Visell x Michelle Valigura's limited runs :)
