James Groman Takes on Batman & his Rogues Gallery for DC Artists Alley!
Artist James Groman has re-imagined Batman and his Rogues Gallery for his upcoming DC Artists Alley designer vinyl collaboration with DC Collectibles.
The line-up of BATMAN, THE JOKER, KILLER CROC and TWO-FACE had been gloriously twisted up and monsterized, and was first introduced to folks at DesignerCon 2018, and this October, the 4 figures will be hitting retail stores.
"When DC Collectibles asked me to design and sculpt my own renditions of DC’s iconic Dark Knight and a few of his villainous adversaries, I was excited and intrigued," said Groman. "Growing up, I wasn’t as big a fan of costumed heroes like most of my friends and was usually drawn to characters like Swamp Thing, Monster of Frankenstein and Werewolf by Night. With that said, I’ve always been a Batman fan, mostly because of his dark nature and origins, and he has THE BEST villains. Working with Jim Fletcher and Trevor Zammit at DC Collectibles on these figures has been so creatively satisfying! It was interesting to see just how far we could take the designs but still remain respectful of each character’s basic DNA. I can only hope this collection leads to even more collaborations with DC Collectibles." (dccomics.com)
All figures are designed and sculpted by James Groman. They are sized 7-inches tall, and has a MSRP of US$65.00 each, with each character limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide.
Figures are sold individually/seperately, although I cannot imagine why folks don't want a "complete" set... and while I now I am jumping the gun here, but it would be awesome if there was a SECOND series/wave to come, innit? What a display shelf THAT'LL make!
