Daniel Yu for Taipei Toy Festival 2019
And while I've oft in the past "labelled" Daniel Yu as a local "resin slinger", the fact is, he no longer JUST "slings resin", but is and has been a bonafide "toy artist/designer" for some time now. On top of his uber-talented sculpting skills (*he sculpts all his toys), this catalog of collectibles has since grown from resin-made, to vinyl-made, to even solid-steel figurines. Daniel has ticked all the boxes, and we benefit from his craft and art.

For this week's Taipei Toy Festival 2019 (Oct 10-13), you'll be able to score the following goodness at Booth A100! I've got no prices for you folks (yet), so you might want to stay sharp, or check in with his Insta @thedanielyu.

All-VINYL line-up of new colors for the 9" tall Lunar Creep and 8" tall Jiangshi Acolyte, and the all-new "弟弟 the Fortune Twin blanks" - all made by Unbox Industries.

Featured above are the coloured resin pieces, with ALL of them created and sculpted by Daniel himself. The figures are not "painted" as much as they featured "colored resin".

The newest addition to the steel brigade series is "Wilbur the Baphomet", with these figures cast in solid steel, sized alongside the above featured resin pieces. They are of a decent heft, and I hope one day to add one or two figures to my personal collection.

Featured above are all hand-painted figures - both resin and vinyl - by Daniel himself, on his own designed/created-collectibles, and very easily worthy of his "toy artist" moniker, IMHO.
In the line-up include the vinyl and resin Jiangshi Acolyte(s), the previously featured "Nice The Board Doctor" collaboration with Fanny Kao (Who will be booting alongside with Daniel at TTF - Check in with Insta @fufufanny.kao for updates+reveals), and painted editions of his "Fortune Twins" vinyl figures.

"He’s based very loosely on H.P. Lovecraft’s main character in The Dunwich Horror, where I reimagined him into an overall-wearing anthropomorph." ~ shared Daniel Yu.
