"In the process of creating his coveted sculptural works, Los Angeles based artist Josh Mayhem uses gallery-quality canvases as drop cloths. As each canvas becomes decorated with an accumulation of colorful drips, patterns began to emerge in the artist's mind. Augmenting each one with coatings of multiple layers of resin and additional paint splashes, these works exude complexity through the floating effect the various layers create."
"Mayhem's newest solo exhibition "DRIP" at The Crown Collection Gallery LA will focus on his latest collection of these visually mesmerizing paintings. The exhibit will also feature a brand new collection of his well known sculptural works to help tell the narrative of how each canvas was created. Sculptural works will include custom adaptations of figures by Takashi Murakami, Kaws, and Hebru Brantley."
