"TUMINDIG TOY CHALLENGE" Launched by Art Toy PH

You might have noticed social media streams had been seeing a number of "fist" characters,
in multiple aesthetics and forms - from drawings to custom art works (Hashtag: #tumindig).

arttoysph.com describes the trend as "Tumindig" - with it being a Filipino word that literally means "to stand firmly" or "to rise". Initially created by Kevin Eric Raymundo @tarantadongkalbo; "Through his drawing, he represented this concept with one fist visibly standing while the others kneel. The character was originally Kevin’s artwork, also known as Tarantadong Kalbo. The Artwork went viral after his fellow artists used his ‘fist characters’ to refer to themselves, thus creating their own version."

In collaboration with TK, Defend Jobs Philippines, and Matimyas Workers Community Pantry, Art Toy PH announces the "TUMINDIG TOY CHALLENGE" and invites everyone to join.

A blank figure will be available for pre-order (each priced at 1,000PHP), with the resulting custom toys put up for auction on arttoysph.com between August 20th to 22nd.

Submission deadline is "August 14", with artists/toy designers interested to email them direct at "arttoysph@gmail.com", inclusive the mechanics info for this project. Part of the sales will be donated to Matimyas Workers Community pantry.
