DKE Toys Returns to DesignerCon 2021 (November 12-14) As An In-Person Event! Plus Artwork Previews for "Gold Timey: The Golden Age of Animation"
DKE Toys announces their upcoming participation in DesignerCon 2021, as an in-person event, November 12-14. After a host of virtual-hosted events, the DKE Toys booth (#1322) will be set up at the Anaheim Convention Center. "No DKE warehouse, no Zoom, just Dov back in the booth...!"
"This is DKE's first in-person convention in 2 years! In an effort to not alienate our online customer base that we have cultivated over these past 2 years because of COVID, we are offering all exclusives for sale online FIRST at NOON PACIFIC on Friday November 5th. Anything not sold out may be temporarily taken off the site to go to the live show starting on November 12th. And anything left over will go back on the site when we return." (@dketoys)
In addition to 40 exclusive individual releases from DKE Toys, there will be two mini art shows. "Ghoul's Chain Gang Bang" by Ghoul Of Gabba is a series of 30 hand painted mug shots featuring his signature colorful reinterpretations. And, "Remember When" by Nick C Kirk - featuring a series of 10 acrylic on wood panel recreations of mint on card vintage figures.
Every year DesignerCon organizes events and aesthetics around an important pop-culture theme. For this edition of DCON, the expo celebrates "Gold Timey: The Golden Age of Animation" with an art show, curated by Carmen “Jane Dope” Acosta. DKE Toys was asked to curate a selection of hand made action figure editions to be included in the main art show, featuring characters from The 1920s Silver Screen. Over 30 artists created small editions, with a select preview seen here today.
