"Prism" Art Show by Camilla d’Errico @ Haven Gallery



Pop surrealist painter, comic artist, and author @camilladerrico unveils a new artwork collection titled "Prism" at Long Island, NY based art gallery @havengallery (50 Main St., Northport, NY 11768). EBENT PRESS: "Camilla proudly presents the culmination of months poured into painting, illustrating and creative exploration for Prism, a collection of 25 original artworks debuting at Haven Gallery. The collection includes a combination of grayscale, mixed media and full color artworks incorporating rainbow highlighted elements accentuating the conversation between creation and expression of emotion. 13 oil-on-wood-panel portraits compose the core body of the collection. Featured among these are fresh interpretations of Camilla’s classic rainbow spill motifs imbued with dynamic energies and thoughtful grayscale reflections on subjects. "I really want this show to make people think, and explore their own emotional relationship to color. My collection is heavily inspired by the way prisms work to refract a single beam of colorless light into a full spectrum of colors. I wanted to see my own artwork through a conceptual prism, and visually emphasize the dichotomy of color vs. the absence of color." shared Camilla d’Errico, " I started with monochromatic and grayscale renderings of subject matter where the intense colors were removed. As my collection developed, it changed in ways I hadn’t planned, as though the artworks passed through the prism of my creativity and their true colors emerged. My collection uses colors to convey emotion, personality or talk about the environment. How the viewer is affected by the absence and emergence of color is as important as how it affects the subjects. Creating this dialogue is about expressing what they feel, and feeling what they express."
