My Artist Story - A New Beginning



"With the prevalence of designer toy culture, an increasing number of individuals are showing a keen interest in designer toys. As people’s curiosity about the world of designer toys grew, they are eager to learn about the creative philosophies of toy artists and designers, along with the intricacies of their stories during the creative process.

We wanted to document that story in a physical readable format but in order to publish a book will require longer time to prepare and to fit into this fast pace era, we have decided to publish zine instead. With this, we will have something in the future to look back that how far we have come.

After attending numerous conventions around Asia, we are aware that the network we have built throughout the years, we want interview designers from a designer's perspective.

The whole idea turn into a solid plan when we were on our way to airport from attending the last overseas convention, Elefun Pop Art & Toy Show 2023, Shanghai. As we were discussing what are the major conventions happening in 2024 and suddenly the idea to have the zine ready at one of these events pop out."




"Introducing [M.A.S. zine] - My Artist Story,a magazine that serves as a gateway into the worldview of artists in the designer toy realm. Published voluntarily by Malaysian artists who have dedicated years to the designer toy scene, [M.A.S. zine] aims to promote and educate more people about this industry. Our goal is to inspire aspiring artists to join our community."

The very first issue of "My Artist Story - A New Beginning" zine features Kenny Wong, Sean Lee , Mueanfun Sapanake, Lee Dae-yul and more. A4 sized at 28 pages, the full color physical copy features staple binding. Featured here are select pages, cheers.
