Godzilla Many Many

The lore of "GODZILLA" is as enduring as any icon in South East Asia, being the lexicon of childhood pop culture (as well around the world, no doubt, but I cannot speak beyond what I experience around myself). Godzilla embarks on a "South East Asia-tour" (including Singapore, with MBS replacing the Changi Airport watch-tower as a representative of the country) showcasing his new atomic-breath color...!

DESCRIPTION: For 70 years, Godzilla has commanded the big screens and captivated the world. And now, a new roar echoes louder than ever.

For the first time across Southeast Asia, the legend emerges in a powerful tribute to the fans who have kept its legacy alive.

An unprecedented Godzilla marks the start of something new. This special footage honors Southeast Asia, celebrating seven decades of Godzilla’s unstoppable journey through the region’s iconic landmarks.

Thank you for 70 years of love, memories, and passion.

Witness the rise. Hear the roar. The legend reigns.

Rewatch this "Godzilla: 70 Years Strong" spot (from 6 months ago), celebrating 70 years of Godzilla, from its humble beginnings in 1954 to its groundbreaking cinematic spectacles of today.

Now I just need to have a "70 Years of Godzilla Toys" to share on this blog LOL

Instead, here's a unboxing for "Godzilla 70th Anniversary Ichiban Kuji" magnet heads!

Continuing the "Asia"-tour, if you don't know by now (this is a "6 months old news" tho :p), writer, director, and VFX supervisor Takashi Yamazaki has been announced to be working on a sequel to 2023's "Godzilla Minus One"...!

Besides being a wonderful watch, "Godzilla Minus One" also serves as a "ground zero" entry point to the franchise, and a decent start for folks unfamiliar with the character. I parallel it to folks who do not actively collect "collectible toys", but started recently with blind box, leading to "boxes" and eventually upscaling to production vinyl art toys off the display shelf, not necessarily needing the "burden" of history, but able too delve into it and discover more, enriching the hobby - both collecting toys, and "knowing Godzilla", IMHO.

Folks talk about the "soft power" Japan has had on western culture, but with "Godzilla" the pop culture power is undeniable, IMHO.

Announced is the sequel to "Godzilla X King: New Empire", "now in production", with "Godzilla X Kong: Supernova" evoking a slew of theories on WHO exactly will our monster duo will be fighting next on the silver screens, come "March 26, 2027"...
